K.O Breaks Silence Following Metro FM Awards Snub In All Categories

Ntokozo Mdluli, also known as K.O, has finally spoken out about the Metro FM Music Awards, which took place over the weekend in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.

Despite having the most nominations, K.O did not win any awards.

Late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes took home several honors. He received four trophies out of six nominations.

Following AKA’s massive achievements, K.O congratulated the late rapper and stated that honors are not his ultimate ambition.

K.O said: “So, I don’t really invest too much in trying to get into campaigning. I make the music and If people love it, they love it, if they don’t, then they don’t. Awards are not the end goal for me.”

K.O was the most nominated artist with seven nominations in different categories but lost out in all seven categories, which included:

  • Artist of the Year
  • Best Collaboration Song
  • Best Hip Hop Artist
  • Best Male Artist
  • Best Music Video
  • Best Viral Challenge
  • Song of the Year

K.O explained his Metro FM Music Awards absence.

He said he had to take an overseas opportunity to grow.

He had to skip the awards because his Europe gigs conflicted.

K.O wondered how Sete missed the awards.

A month after its debut, K.O.’s Sete hit 10 million YouTube views.

It joined Master KG and Nomcebo’s Jerusalema as South Africa’s songs with at least 300,000 streams per week in six weeks.
