Generations The Legacy Gets Renewed For A New Season

Generations: The Legacy, SABC 1’s most popular show, has been renewed, even though critics have criticized the show for being on the air and for having a weak plot.

Phil Mphela, who writes about entertainment, says that the show has been picked up for a ninth season. Mphela said in August that eTV shows had taken the show’s place as the second most watched TV show in Mzansi.

As of July 2022, Scandal had 5.3 million viewers and HOZ had 4.9 million. This pushed Generation, which had 4.7 million viewers, to fourth place.

he River is another show whose future is up in the air. The storyline isn’t exciting people, so the writers have been told to start over.

A lot of people on Twitter have been complaining about how the story keeps repeating itself, and it looks like the actors are starting to realize that the ship is about to sink. The River used to be one of Mzansi’s most popular and most watched TV shows, but people have been criticizing it on social media lately.

“Season 6 of The River should be the last. They should go all out and produce the best season of the entire run. Fight for money to blow up the mansion is the must.Tshedza is working on a new project anyway so they can afford to let go of The River,” wrote Phil MpheLa.

Another Twitter user wrote “The river needs to do better with storyline ya Lindiwe and Zweli’s family. it can’t be all the time they come back they want to steal money. they deserve better pls #TheRiver1Magic.”

Others have even stopped watching the show until writers do justice. “A week ago, I chose peace and self-love and removed The River from my “Continue watching” list. Maybe November will make more sense. Will reconsider then, because wow what a joke it has become,” she wrote.

Mnet announced yesterday that Hlomla Dandala, who plays Zweli Dikana, Lawrence Maleka, who plays Zolani Dlamini, and Ncetezo, who plays Paulina Dlomo, are leaving the show.

As they move on to greener pastures, the show wishes them the best of luck in their new lives.

“We would like to thank Hlomla, Lawrence and Tango for their priceless contributions to the show, as well as the incredible work that went into giving their characters life. They all brought professionalism, dedication, presence and charisma to the table, and we have loved working with them on the show. We look forward to seeing what their adventure holds,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels on M-Net.
