Somizi Mhlongo, a media personality, announced on Thursday 9 March that he had withdrawn his divorce summons against actor Mohale Motaung after an expert advised that the pair were never married in the first place — via an Instagram post.

SOMIZI WITHDRAWS DIVORCE SUMMONS
Tshisa Live reports that Somizi Mhlongo has withdrawn his divorce summons against Mohale. This comes after Mohale denied entering into a “valid customary [marriage] on September 28 2019,” as per legal documents seen by the publication.
Somizi initially sent the 28-year-old divorce summons. The summons reportedly noted that they were married in community of property under customary law.
The publication reports that Somizi’s legal representatives revealed not all the customs were complied with — after obtaining an expert opinion. This means despite having a public wedding, which was streamed as a Showmax special, the pair were never married in the eyes of the law.
So, the marriage was non-existent. Therefore, Somizi – who instituted the divorce proceedings has to pay Mohale’s legal fees. This is common.
So, this also means that Mohale is no longer entitled to 50% of the media personality’s estate. However, here’s a look at what the 28-year-old could have been entitled to.
