Zakes Bantwini and Nomcebo have been nominated for the Grammy Awards for the first time. With the song Bayethe, which features Wouter Kellerman, the South African stars are nominated for Best Global Music Performance.
On Tuesday night, the people in charge of the prestigious award announced the names of the people who will be up for it in 2023.
Burna Boy, Arooj Aftab, Anoushka Shankar, and a few other stars will also be competing with Zakes and Nomcebo.
Zakes thanked everyone on social media for giving him his first Grammy nomination.
“I’ve just received my first Grammy nomination, God is the greatest,” he wrote.
