Phuthi Khomo Joins The Cast Of Imbewu The Seed

South African television actress Phuthi Khomo has joined eTV’s popular telenovela as Imbewu, starring as Josina – Ngcolosi’s Mozambican fiancée. Phuti will make her Imbewu debut on Friday, December 23rd at 9 p.m.

Josina is a lovely Mozambican woman who arrives at the Bhengu home expecting to take over as lady of the house. Ngcolosi introduces her to the audience as his fiancée. They met six months before and fell in love. We learn that he invited her to live with him because his marriage to MaZulu (Leleti Khumalo) had ended.

Josina’s furious when she realises that Ngcolosi wasn’t entirely honest with her and that he’s using her to hurt MaZulu. But she’s not like any of the young women that he cheated on MaZulu with in the past. He really cares about her, which is what rattles MaZulu and makes her believe that her marriage with Ngcolosi is truly over. Josina leaves after making it clear to MaZulu that she’s not a home wrecker and to show Ngcolosi that she’s not a pawn. Though he has strong feelings for her, he will not go after her, because she is not MaZulu.

Tony Kgoroge who lats Ngcolosi returned to the show this December. In a statement eTV said “The man, the myth, the legend is on his way and he’s coming for everything. The last we saw of Ngcolosi, he was on his deathbed in a hospital. Later on, we witnessed what we believed was the burial of Zimele’s body. But, did our eyes deceive us? Now, as we flash back two years into the story, it will be confirmed that Ngcolosi never actually died. And while he was gathering his strength, Khemisi [Thabiso Lekoba] was his safeguard the entire time.”

According to City Press, producers of the show brought Phindile Gwala and Ton to boost the ratings.

“Tony has started filming on set with the other actors for his return. They needed to bring him back because the viewership numbers are not doing very well and they had to bring him back,” said the source.

Another source added, “Phindile has a following that watches the show and her presence on the show was felt because of her fan base, plus she is a good-looking person, and a gap on the show was felt [after she left],” the source added.
