Tweeps Want Terry Pheto Imprisoned Amid House Auction

Following reports by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) that award-winning actress Moitheri “Terry” Pheto’s Bryanston home will be auctioned on Thursday, 2 March, social media users have weighed in.

Tweeps are calling for the arrest of the former Tsotsi star, 41, who is involved in the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) fraud scandal.

Bidding for the three-bedroom home will begin at R3 million, according to Asset Auctions, with the house valued between R4 and R6 million.

This comes after the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) announced in November last year that they had obtained a preservation order from the North Gauteng High Court to seize Terry Pheto’s home.

According to the SIU, the funds used for the purchase of the land and construction of the media  personality’s home came from non-profit organisations that received NLC funding.

In addition, the Unit said that the former Bold and the Beautiful actress’ legal team indicated — in January 2023 — that they will not contest the preservation order granted by the high court.

When the SIU’s findings were made public last year, Terry Pheto issued a statement on her Twitter account denying any involvement to the alleged fraud scheme.

“I am dismayed to discover that I am the subject of a Special Investigating Unit (SIU) probe into allegations of fraud relating to funding by the National Lotteries Commission.

“I deny any involvement in the alleged scheme that has been reported on,” she said.

The mom-of-one also shared that she had no prior knowledge of an application to obtain a preservation order against her.

Following an update from the SIU, that Terry Pheto’s home would be auctioned, tweeps have expressed that they are waiting for her arrest.
