What We Know About Limpopo’s Dr ‘Pashy’ Ntshani

Dr Patience ‘Pashy’ Ntshani of Limpopo has been trending for her claimed friendship with Dr Nandipha Magudumana, her lost passport, her foundation, and other reasons.

Dr Patience ‘Pashy’ Ntshani, the eldest of four children, was born in Botlokwa village in Limpopo, according to Sowetan in 2019.

Her social media sites show that she has a brother who is an engineer and two sisters who are also doctors.

WHERE WAS DR PASHY BORN?

Sowetan reported in 2019 that Dr Patience ‘Pashy’ Ntshani was born in Botlokwa village in Limpopo and is the eldest of four children.

According to her social media accounts, she has a brother, who’s an engineer, and two sisters who are also doctors.

“I stayed in that village until I was in standard 5 (grade 7) and matriculated at Harry Oppenheimer after two boarding schools,” said Ntshani.

PATIENCE FELL IN LOVE WITH MEDICINE AT 10

Sowetan adds that Ntshani was only 10-years-old when she fell in love with medicine and that she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Medunsa, followed by a diploma in Anesthesiology with the Colleges of Medicine SA (CMSA) before completing her fellowship with the CMSA.

The 40-year-old was specialising in open-heart surgery at the MedicClinic Hospital in Pretoria in 2019, it is unclear if she’s still practicing there at the moment.

She continues: “To me, when someone underestimates me, they are fuelling my resolve to go out there and be better.”

“I fell in love with anesthesiology while I was doing my internship at Natalspruit Hospital. Then I went to Akasia Hospital for community service and back to Medunsa to specialise for four years.”

DR NTSHANI’S FOUNDATION

IOL reported in 2020 that the award-winning anaesthesiologist, who is the founder of the Dr Pashy Foundation hosted the Dr Pashy Foundation and Power Woman Inc Present Power Women Talk Dinner at The Houghton Hotel.

She told The Star that the main aim of her foundation was to raise funds for tertiary education of underprivileged learners. Ntshani added that she knew what it was like to receive financial assistance for her education.

“I’m a rural girl myself and I’m from the villages, so I want to do the same for these underprivileged children and I just want to uplift, that’s all,” she said.

LIMPOPO DOCTOR STOLEN IDENTITY

The Citizen reports that Dr Patience Ntshani revealed on Monday, 10 April that she was seeking legal advice following reports that her identity was stolen by Dr Nandipha.

“We have learnt, with great concern, of the potential stolen identity of our founder, Dr Ntshani by Dr Nandipha Magudumana. Dr Ntshani is seeking legal advice, and to the extent that these reports are true, the matter will be dealt with legally.”

HER ‘FRIENDSHIP’ WITH DR NANDIPHA

From social media posts and newspaper articles, it is clear that Dr Nandipha and Dr Pashy have met before. However, it is unclear what the extent of their relationship was.

In October 2020, Ntshani, founder of the Dr Pashy Foundation, hosted the Dr Pashy Foundation and Power Woman Inc Present Power Women Talk Dinner at the Houghton Hotel in Houghton Estate.’
