Babes Wodumo Celebrates As Mampintsha Reaches A New Milestone

Not forgotten, but gone. That is one statement that best represents Mampintsha , a South African artist who died on Christmas Eve last year. At the very least, he lives on in the heart of the widow he left behind, Babes Wodumo.

The “Gqom Queen” chose to honor her husband after he surpassed 10 million YouTube views. So she went to his grave and popped a bottle of wine in his honor. The video of that occasion was published on TikTok, sparking an interesting discussion among viewers.

That wasn’t the first time the songstress had visited her late husband’s grave, however. On Valentine’s Day this year, she had visited his grave with flowers, noting that she would forever cherish the times they shared until his sudden death.

Mampintsha, who was part of a Kwaito collective called Big Nuz, had suffered a mild stroke last year and was rushed to the hospital. He, unfortunately, didn’t survive. His death came as a shock to an industry that had faced so many deaths already.

But as Babes Wodumo indirectly reminds the world almost every day, her husband’s legacy is pretty strong and would likely still be humming in many years to come. Yup.
