The Saint Champagne Bar & Lounge story has caught the attention of Mzansi. Comedians Donovan and Davina Goliath have shown the funny side of the story.
People are talking about the lounge in Zonnebloem, Cape Town, because it found a way to deal with customers who didn’t pay.
The couple made a funny video on Instagram about what would happen if they were one of the hundreds of people who “owe” the business money.
The video starts with Davina saying: “We’ve lost everything, all the cars are gone, the house is gone, the Dstv has been disconnected.”
The clip then jumps to Donovan who’s asked how he lost his money: “I had to pay the bill at Saint Lounge.” It ends with Davina saying: “Imagine being caught lay-buying Hennessy.”
In her mentions, her followers found the clip hilarious.
“Can’t believe my friends & I paid the bill when others got to lay-buy, clearly siweak,” replied one.
The management of Saint told customers they had 12 hours to pay their bills or they would be named in public.
On Sunday, the bar and lounge posted on social media and said they would tell everyone who owed them money.
Monday, the club put up a post on Instagram thanking customers who had paid their bills and asking those who hadn’t yet to do so.
“South Africa and Africa we thank you for assistance. To you customers that have asked for an extension until Wednesday, please, you have until 7pm sharp Wednesday to settle your outstandings with us.”
