The rapper and the late DJ were close friends, and they even collaborated on one of South Africa’s best songs, “Monate Mpolaye.”

Cassper Nyovest, who is still processing the loss of his close friend, reflected on their live performance on Monate Mpolaye at the 2019 Fill-Up on Instagram. The rapper revealed that they had plans to do the same next week as he gears up for Fill-Up Mmabatho Stadium in his Mafikeng hometown.

It’s evident that Cassper Nyovest treasures his bond with DJ Sumbody. The rapper acknowledged that he had lost a significant person in his life. During his memorial service statement yesterday, the rapper stated that Sumbody was both a friend and a father to him.

“He was also very grounded, very rooted, it was sort of you have a father and a friend in one person. He asked very simple questions that were very difficult to answer. But after that question you really re-evaluate your life, it was like a reset that you needed, that was DJ Sumbody,” Cassper said.

According to reports, DJ Sumbody and his merry band were driving down Woodmead Road on Sunday morning when unknown killers violently attacked their car with a hail of bullets.
