Multiple-award winner Murdah Bongz has dedicated his first solo album to his daughter Asante.
The musician has been working hard in the studio and eventually published his latest body of work on Friday. Morda/ Asante is the title of the album, and it has received amazing reviews from his admirers since its release.
Murdah tweeted a screenshot of DJ Zinhle’s Instagram story, in which she revealed how she expected Murdah to be nervous about the release, but he wasn’t.
She stated that when she arrived home a day before the album’s release, Murdah had gone outside to bless the CD, which is why she adores him.
“The day before Murdah released the Asante album. The kids were sleeping, my boo and I sat on the kitchen counter with a bottle of Boulevard to discuss the day ahead. I had just arrived from the girls night.
When I came home,. I thought Bongani might be nervous about the release, but he was calm. Before I got home, my beautiful man had gone outside to pray for the album release. It was raining that night and his willingness to stay in the rain and pray is the reason I love and support him. He takes nothing for granted He gave his heart to this album” wrote Zinhle.
It’s fantastic to see Murdah succeeding in his solo career. In April, Black Motion issued a joint statement via Black Spirit denying rumors that they were splitting up.
The official statement released by Black Spirit reads; “This comes after damaging and untrue rumours that emerged on 29 April 2022, that Black Motion has split on social media by an account only known as Musa Khawula. Spirit Motion would like to state in a record that Black Motion members Thabo Mabongwa aka Smol and Bongani Mahosana aka Murdahbongz have not parted ways. Black Motion still exists and has plans for more years to come.”
The statement also continued to read and address a few branding changes that the bandmates have taken in their individual capacities as solo brands. “The only change which does not affect the change is that Murdah has rebranded himself from Murdah to Morda. This is because he is preparing to launch his solo career as a DJ but still remains part and parcel of Black Motion.”
Smol will also pursue other business endeavors on his own, which will be publicized after they are finalized. Murdah afterwards changed his name to Morda and began a solo career.
